Determining Eligibility

To determine eligibility for any Montgomery GI Bill benefits, contact the Veterans Affairs Regional Office at 888.GI.BILL.1 (888.442.4551) or visit the VA Website. GI Bill benefits are determined and paid out solely by the Veterans Affairs Regional Office.

After Eligibility Has Been Established

Once you receive the Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) form from the VA, contact the Northeastern University VA representative at 617.373.5008. The VA representative will verify your enrollment status (based on your course registration) with the VA Regional Office.

Vocational Rehabilitation Program

The Northeastern VA representative also works with students eligible for funding under the Vocational Rehabilitation Program (Chapter 31), which assists veterans who have been declared 100% disabled. The VA representative verifies the student's status with his/her VA counselor and supplies the student with a book voucher each semester/quarter. Contact the VA Regional Office at 888.GI.BILL.1 (888.442.4551) for more information on this program.
