Northeastern University Office of University Planning and Research
To Members of the Northeastern Community:

Welcome to Northeastern’s Reaccreditation Web Site.

Northeastern University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).  Every ten years a university must go through a reaccreditation process in order to maintain its status.  This process includes the development of a self-study and then a visit from an evaluation team comprised of faculty members and administrators from other institutions of higher education.  The names of the participants on our visiting team and their university affiliations can be found at the link to the left. Our site visit team will be on campus from November 2 through November 5, 2008.

Our reaccreditation process is led by Stephen W. Director, Provost, and Mark Putnam, Senior Vice President for Executive Affairs who have co-chaired the Steering Committee. Teams of faculty members, administrators and students gathered to address the eleven standards that were developed by NEASC’s Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. Over one hundred members of our community have been actively engaged in this process.

You have been offered the opportunity to comment on several drafts of the self-study document.  Now we are pleased to share with you the final version of the self-study.  This document is now in the hands of the site visit team who will be reading it carefully and reviewing our web site in preparation for their visit.

A link to the entire document is found to the left. However, if you would prefer to look at the sections of the self-study separately, you can access them here:

We want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have been part of the process, in whatever way you have contributed. Without your help we could not have developed this self-study. We believe that this comprehensive self-study gives a good sense of how the University has changed in the decade since the last site visit and the heights to which we now aspire.
