NU and Bubble Technology Industries collaborate on a new system for detecting hidden radioactive materials

Northeastern's Gordon Center for Subsurface Sensing and Imaging Systems and Canada’s Bubble Technology Industries have successfully collaborated in developing a radiation-sensing device, now in production at Raytheon, for the Department of Homeland Security.

Northeastern professor of physics Sergey V. Kravchenko and research associate Svetlana Anissimova have answered a longstanding question from the field of condensed matter physics in an article published in the August issue of Nature Physics.

Northeastern has struck an alliance with Hebrew College of Newton for one of the most expansive partnerships between a private university and a Jewish college, including an extensive combined Department of Jewish Studies and sharing of resources, faculty appointments, and classes.
