Giving Opportunities

Northeastern seeks resources for endowment, facilities and current use, and in support of people and programs across the university.

Current Use
Unrestricted Annual Support
The university encourages all alumni and friends to support the unrestricted Northeastern Fund in addition to providing endowment and capital support.

This support of the Annual Giving Program helps to offset annual operating expenses and provides flexibility for the University to respond to opportunities and needs as they arise.

Annual gifts support a wide range of programs, activities, and facilities, and are essential to the operation of a large university.

Restricted Support
The University also seeks support for restricted current-use priorities. These gifts support the day-to-day operation of particular programs and often take the form of faculty research grants.

Endowment

Northeastern relies heavily on tuition for its annual operating budget. The University endowment earns annual interest that funds various purposes specified by donors, while the unspent principal creates long-term financial stability.

Selected opportunities include:

Trustee Professorships
Presidential Scholarships
Biotechnology Center

Facilities
Once a no-frills environment geared toward commuters, the Northeastern campus has become a great place to learn, work and live.

Extensive renovations are under way, and new buildings are going up. Lush landscaping is creating a beautiful, park-like atmosphere. Continued enhancement is essential to attracting students and faculty, providing a world-class environment and thriving in a competitive market.

Selected opportunities include:

CyberCafé
InfoCommons
West Village Residence Halls
