Honors Outreach Project

A collaborative project sponsored by the Northeastern University Honors Program and the Center of Community Service, the Honors Outreach Project seeks to introduce first-year honors students to the neighborhoods and communities that surround Northeastern University. It aims to instill a commitment to service and civic engagement in student that will continue throughout their Northeastern experience.

The second-annual Honors Outreach Project will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2008 with nearly 300 first-year Honors students and upper-class mentors volunteering with various local community organizations.

The service day will focus on literacy, education, and youth outreach building on different themes/issues which were presented in this year's Honors Book Program selection, Three Cups of Tea by David Oliver Relin and Greg Mortenson.
