The Office of Alumni Relations is excited to announce the addition of a new event to our 2008 roster – the Northeastern University Big Dog 5K. 

On Saturday, September 20, 2008, all Huskies are encouraged to take part in a spirited Fun Run along the Charles River. The 3.1 mile flat loop course is contained entirely within the pathways of Boston’s beautiful Esplanade.

Whether you’re a runner at heart, a weekend warrior, or a fan of being outdoors, this event is for you! There’s no better way to spend a day in New England than by enjoying the striking scenery of the Charles River and the peaceful landscape of the Esplanade in the company of Northeastern graduates, students and University community members.

Bring a fellow classmate, a spouse, a friend … runners of all abilities are welcome — walkers too!

Boston Esplanade – Lagoon
The Lagoon area of the Esplanade is a short walk west from the Hatch Shell. Directional signs from the Hatch Shell will point the way.

Registration & Number Pick Up:  9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Pre-race Stretch:  10:40 a.m.
Race Start:  11:00 a.m.
Awards Ceremony:  11:45 a.m. (approximately)
Relax, catch up with friends and enjoy the view for as long as you want!

Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in individual and student team competition.
