Human Resource Management - New Employee Orientation Process
Policy and Procedure
POLICY: All new employees, rehires, and current employees moving to a benefits-eligible position are required to attend a two-part "Introduction and Orientation to Northeastern University" which is held bi-weekly. Session I is held every other Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Session II is held the following Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
PROCEDURE:
1. Once the offer letter is signed, returned and processed in the Customer Service Center, the new employee should contact Human Resources Management at x2230 to reserve a space at the next orientation session.
2. Employees report to 250 Columbus Place at the confirmed date and time. They will be greeted and asked to complete I-9 information (if this was not previously done).
3. Employees enroll in the benefit plans, complete federal and state tax forms, and complete information for Payroll on disposition of their paychecks.
4. If a new hire misses orientation, the employee will be contacted unit to reschedule their session.
