Facilities - Overview
The Facilities Division is a service oriented organization whose mission is to support Northeastern University's position as a national research, practice-oriented, student centered, urban institution by providing a safe, healthy and attractive environment conducive to teaching, learning, and working.
The Facilities Division is comprised of the following departments:

Maintains four sporting venues for Northeastern University. Facilities include Matthews Arena; Boston, Parsons Field; Brookline; Solomon Track & Field; Dedham, and Henderson Boathouse, Brighton. They coordinate maintenance, repairs, waste removal, layout and lining of all athletic surfaces.
Building Services is responsible for the maintenance of janitorial services, pest control, snow removal, solid waste/recycling and academic and residence hall operational services. We strive to provide high quality building services to the University and are committed to providing safe, well-maintained facilities.
The Construction Department consists of two major departments: Capital Construction and Special Projects. These areas are responsible for the planning, design and construction of new buildings; the extension, renewal and replacement of the existing sixty-four academic, administrative, athletic, research and residential facilities, including suburban campuses. Its primary mission is to maintain the University's facilities and equipment in the best possible condition to provide students, faculty, and staff an environment conducive to learning, teaching, and working.
The Facilities Customer Service Center is the communications center responsible for gathering accurate information for work requests for repairs, special services and emergencies. The center is the primary command center for the Facilities Division and is open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Our mission is to provide fast, efficient response to all work order requests.
The Landscape Services department is responsible for the landscaping, design and maintenance of Northeastern's Boston and suburban campuses. Their goal is to design a landscape environment that is aesthetically pleasing for the community to live, learn and socialize.
The department is responsible for planning, documentation, analysis and development of programming options for the effective use of existing and new space in University facilities. Additionally, the unit provides architectural and interior design services for all University renovations. Working closely with the Special Projects Unit, Space Planning and Design delivers quality renovation projects to all University clients. Planning and Design strives to best utilize the University's facilities while maintaining the academic mission.
Facilities Operations oversees energy management systems, utility management, safety and the trades. The trades include Auto Shop, Carpentry Shop, Electrical Shop, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Lock Shop, Mechanical, Painting, Plumbing and Sign Shop.
The Transportation, Warehousing and Receiving Department is responsible for providing logistical support as well as providing moving and storage services for the University community.
